If you’re selling your home with solar panels in Maryland, make sure you talk to your agent about transferring the contract to the buyer. Every company is different so make sure you call your solar panel company and find out what needs to be done in order for the buyer to assume your contract. Solar panels are not just another utility. You need to make sure the buyer is willing to take over your contract and that they meet the criteria to assume your contract. If your solar panels are least make sure that you provide the least items addendum in your disclosures. It’s also good to put in the remarks on your listing that solar panels or on the house because often times depending on the style of the home you may not be able to see the panels standing from the ground.
